Featured Artist

Michelle Pasia is the artist and founder of Strange Mercy. The brand started in 2016 as a shop selling curated vintage clothing from New York City. Today, the brand showcases women empowerment, body positivity, and spirituality, through everyday wear that shows carefree radical femininity.

Michelle shares with LW&D that even less is more if you breathe meaning into it. She says that she "wants to highlight the feeling of gratitude for the instances we’re able to spend with the important beings in our lives and how we can be fully present in such moments. In line with that, maybe a self-analysis check on how our words, stories, and actions can impact our friends or our community as we constantly ask ourselves how we can bring added value to the conversation or to the group."

Our Partner Organization

100% of the profits will go to AHA! Learning Center. Founded by Jaton Zulueta, an Obama Foundation Leader, AHA! and its team of volunteers continue to work hard to create a better learning environment and nurturing curriculum for the Filipino youth, especially our beloved public school students.

AHA! has supported 3 million public school students through reaching for educational support, has produced up to 200 hours of educational TV and radio content, and has trained 110,000 parents and teachers as learning facilitators.

In-Between Stories

In-Between Stories is an artwork dedicated to emphasizing the value of being with friends over a simple meal at brunch - a gathering that used to be a part of people’s routines that changed over the pandemic and is sorely missed.

Nothing can replace good conversations over coffee or wine and food in the good company of the people we enjoy the most.

Michelle Pasia shares that the experience gave her the chance to revisit memories that she appreciated before the world changed its course. She found herself thinking about a couple of things:

“What were they thinking?”

“What kind of conversations were they having?”

“What is each person bringing to the table?”

She aims to zoom in on the dynamic between the three women which added another layer to this piece.
